We are always looking for something to change our lives for the better…searching for something to make our days less hectic and stressful. But what if the changes that we are looking for cannot be found externally but found internally?
What if the better day that we need is the result of us making a few adjustments within?
Here are 3 things that I believe can improve your day:
Choose to pray
It’s powerful to talk to God. Talk to God about your fears, your work project that needs done, your family, your friends, etc. Ask him for wisdom and guidance. Ask him to speak to you and to help you.
I find when I start my day talking to God, my heart can often loosen its grip on my anxiety and stresses.
When you’re making the coffee…pray.
When you’re packing the kids’ lunches…pray.
When you’re driving…pray.
Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated or any certain way. Just talk to God. He’s always listening.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. — Philippians 4:6
Choose to think/speak positively
You are what you think. It’s amazing how a day can change so much when we choose to shift our perspective to seeing the glass as half-full instead of half-empty.
Our spouses, kids, and coworkers will instantly notice the change in our attitude.
It’s not easy at first and it’s a daily grind at times, but we owe it to our mental health and relationships to think and speak on the positive side of life.
Choose to care for others
I always feel better when I value others.
Sometimes people can be hard to handle but decide to care for them anyway.
Listen longer.
Laugh with them.
Hold open a door.
Pay for their food.
I have never regretted loving and valuing others.
Doing these 3 things often help me. What are some things that help you?
